I will be making my second appearance on DJ Roy Ghim's Liberation By Sound radio show on Wmpg this coming Tuesday, alongside our friends South China. As usual, the show runs from 3-5 PM on 90.9 or 104.1, if you will be away from the radio but would still like to listen you can always tune in via their live digital stream here. I plan on showcasing two or three new songs across the airwaves, including at least one song that has not yet been played at any shows. Jeremy and Jerusha of South China always do an excellent job and I would suggest that it's well worth tuning in just for their performance alone. We are making this appearance on the radio to promote our show next Friday at Mayo Street Arts:
Mayo Street Arts is a fabulous converted church performance space here in Portland (located at 10 Mayo Street) with gorgeous natural reverb. I played there recently with Moorhound and Jesse Pilgrim and really fell in love with the room. Something about the combination of acoustics and light, along with the vintage style curtain behind the mini stage, really felt like a sort of home for my music. I know that eight dollars for a show is sort of steep, but I really mean it whole-heartedly when I say that this lineup (Including Selbyville, wonderful floating guitar compositions from some special lovely place in the heart) is really special and worth serious consideration. Mark and I will be playing guitars and drums and playing more arranged versions of the new songs I/we've been working on all summer. It will be more of a special evening of special music in a special space than any old show, I promise.
One last bit of news. What was previously a Facebook-exclusive string of monthly recordings is now being moved to our mailing list. The tracks will still be posted to our facebook page for online listening, but subscribers to our mailing list will receive a monthly E-mail featuring a new recording attached and waiting for download.
